Olympic Team Information

The National Senior Games (commonly called the Senior Olympics) are played every two years at various locations across the country.  The Senior Olympics has competition in all the same sports as the regular Olympics.

The Golden Girls have a wonderful record in the Olympics in Softball as well as other sports.  Golden Girls have been participating in the Senior Olympics since 1991.  In that year, a group of women aged 55 and older practiced hard together and evolved from a group of individuals who hadn't played much softball since childhood into a cohesive team that came home with the gold medal.  Since that time, Golden Girls has had at least one team at each event, adding first a 60+ team, then 65+ and 50+ teams.  Only in 1993 did Golden Girls fail to win at least one gold medal.  In that year, with only the 55+ team entered, Golden Girls brought home a silver.
